What cubic inch is this? 4.145 bore 3.75 stroke

Well i tore my motor apart, i measured the bore and it came out to 4.145, When one on the pistons was a BTC, I measured from the top on the piston to the top of the block and came up with 3.750 which would indicate a 3.75 stroke. This is also in a bowtie block. What cubic inch would this come out to, My guess is 406 but i was informed that the max intended cubic inch for the bowtie block is 391....Thanks guys

a 406 is 4.155 bore and 3.75 stroke.. so maybe a 404ish.. and i'm sure you mean BDC.. bottom dead center, not BTC which is idk..

HAHAHA Yeah i meant BDC.....I measured it with a digital caliper because I dont have a dial bore gauge as of right now, so i'm thinking if i can actually measure more down inside the bore it will probably be 4.155.....who knows

The volume of a cylinder is the area of the base times the height. The area of the base is pi times the radius squared. The radius is one-half of the diameter.

(4.145"/2) squared times 3.14159 times 3.75" = 50.60 cubic inches. Times 8 cylinders = 404.8 cubic inches.

Basically, it's a 400 with a .020" overbore.

Or, if it's actually 4.155" bore, 400 with a .030" overbore. . .

Math fits in this category:
