Rebuilt 355: estimates?

The 350 in the IROC has just been put back in. Rebuilt with the following stuff:
- Hot-tanked block bored .030" over to 355ci
- rebuilt stock heads with reground and reseated valves
- New LT1 valvesprings with stock rockers and pushrods
- Flat top cast pistons, cant remember the exact minor compression increase
- Double row roller timing chain
- balanced stock crank, rods, and pistons
- summit (flowtech?) shorty headers with header wrap
- new harmonic balancer
- mildy ported tpi plenum (removed wall at front).
- removed egr diaphram from intake manifold
- removed pollution gear etc
- ac delete pulley
- smog delete pulley
- new acdelco plugs & 8.5mm msd wires
- Pure motorsports braided fuel line kit
- K&N filters
- stock water pump, new bearings & pretty much stock everything else..

What hp/tq figures can i expect from this pretty conservative combo?

Yeah, the headers are the only thing that made any real HP change. Assuming it's still a stock cam, which you didn't mention.

It will definately perform a lot better than your stock engine did, I would probably say a 20-30hp gain

Yea, it'll be back to like new condition, so if you had bad rings and it burned out and had a fair bit of blowby, that'll be fixed, but performance wise, maybe 20 HP if you're lucky. Cam and heads are where the power is, and it doesn't seem like you did much/anything to those.

Re: Rebuilt 355: estimates?

Yeah stock cam too. I was thinking an optimistic 15 hp, but yeah it runs a lot smoother, but i'm still breaking it tho.

Def worth it, but now the bottom ends fresh, i can save for some heads and cam, intake, etc. So it worked out good.

BTW the drivers side (your pass side) headers are pretty butchered to clear the steering shaft, so the gains are probably negated anyways!

Hey, the Chevy Orange engine paint's gotta be worth 5 hp alone!
