idle problem
here is my engine: 10066036- target master/gm goodwrench 350 block, 14044016(off the top of my head)- 80-85 gm 305 HO heads, demon 650 carb, heddman headers, i know the cam is aftermarket but i dont know the specs havent found them yet.
now here is the problem, it idles at 1500 rpm. the carb is brand new with 3 hours run time, the carb and carb-to-intake gaskets are fine, no leaks. timing is dead on, has vac advance. no matter how i time it or adjust the carb it stays at 15-1300 rpm. i had a speed shop look at it and they cant figure it out either, they guessed it might be the intake-to-head gaskets. I sprayed carb cleaner around the entire intake and carb area and nothing, everything seems fine. does anyone have any ideas what i could check without ripping off the intake or if it really is those gaskets. thanks
