electronic spark timing is giving me shyttt!! kinda long, I NEED HELP!
been following a part throttle miss for a couple weeks now and i finnally figured it out, i had a MSD blaster coil, accell performance control module , mallory wires and Vg2 plugs, MSD cap/rotor fuel pressure at 50psi....i checked all that cap/rotor, wires set fuel pressure to 48psi and still a miss... checked base timing with ECM bypass and at 10*, computer enabled and it advances timing to 27*. replaced coil with stock coil i had and still had the miss, replaced module with stock i had before upgrade and still had the miss, so im fed up, i then tried the timing gun on each cylinder and found that plugs 7,2,4,6,8 had a slight miss where the gun light would black out. i ripped the ECM out and ripped out the motorvation chip out and put the stocker back in still i had the misses on the plug, i then stuck the timing light on the coil wire going to the distributer and i found that the coil was also doing the same thing(blacking out the timing gun as the miss) so what ever is controling the remote coil is causing the miss.... so i disconect the ECM timing plug on the firewall and then tested the coil again with the timing gun and BAMMMMM no more miss.... so what is the prob? the ECM or what ever the hell is controling the timing?
i read the manual and it says absolutly nothing just that it gets a signal from the knock sensor to retard the timing. wat do i have to do to fix this??? its my daily driveru can hear a slight miss at idle at 1200rpms it gets worse but driving below 2300 around town there are no probs? except in 3rd gear when i put load on the engine does it occur worst? and forget about it in overdrive it runs like ****. no backfires just misses....
I NEED HELP!!!
