Hey guys, I recently purchased my 3rd camaro a 83 z28. The car originally had the crossfire 305 in it but the guy who had it before me put in a 350 and a 350 turbo tranny. I have had the car for a couple months now and it ran great for the first month. The guy I had bought it off off had it stored for about a month before I bought it so the first thing I did is do a fresh oil change and also the plugs and wires. car still ran just fine after this but about 2 weeks after would not hold an idle to well. When I started the car unless I gave it a little push on the gas it would stall out on me. I got some carb cleaner and sprayed the carb down (4bbl Q-jet) and this seemed to help some cause the car would atleast hold an idle but not unless i reved it up a bit first. I drove the car still for about a week and a few days ago replaced the valve covers and put on a new air cleaner. I also took off the carb and cleaned it up a bit but when I was taking it off the line the fuel line that goes to the front of the carb started to twist and cracked. I got this fixed and got everything put back together. The car still idled horribly and for some reason now when I would drive it it seems like I got no power at all coming off a stop and the car still stalls occasionally. I realized that my alternator was bad after checking it cause my choke light was coming on and put on a brand new one. The car seems a little better but still not the same. The thing I am jumping to now is the fuel pump but I am not sure. Any input would be great. Let me know if you need any more info.......

 

carb could be due for a rebuild, choke could be sticking/inoperative, or a million other things...

Have you checked the timing?

 

Well I got under the hood again today and realized that my throttle cable had come loose so that is my acceleration problem but it is sit satlling out on me. The car seems to only idle around 500-450. Could I just maybe have to set the Idle a little higher....
