Emissions Info Needed, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Could someone/everyone please post clear pictures of your emissions equipment and it's routing? I'm doing an engine swap ('89 Formula L98 TPI) into my 1979 camaro, unfortunately I'm in California so this means I must have ALL emissions equipment installed and installed properly. Please help me!

Thanks guys!

Have you considered moving? Naa, just kidding.
I would talk to your local inspector. The emissions equipment required should only be that which came on the car from the factory. (Charcoal canister, EGR, CAT converter, and AIR pump to the exhaust manifolds) You shouldn't have a problem meeting the emission requirement for the 79 model year.
But then again, this is California we're talking about.

I thought the same thing, but then I contacted the BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) and they told me that my car must include any and all smog equipment which came stock on the engine that's going into the car. This is so that there are no issues with cross compatability with the older smog equipment and the newer engine. So yeah, all of my smog equipment must be from a 1989 Camaro/Trans Am L98.

Emission Control Configuration

"Mixing and matching emission control system components could cause problems and is generally not allowed. Engine and emission control systems must be in an engine-chassis configuration certified by the California Air Resources Board (ARB) or U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The engine must meet or exceed the requirements for the year and class of vehicle in which it is installed."

Apparently somewhere in this paragragh it clearly states what I just said but I don't think it's as clear as they say it is, but maybe that's just me.

You may have fitment issues with the AIR tubes. Might need to have some tubes custom made and attach them to the stock ones. Too bad you cant just ditch the AIR as it does nothing except dilute your exhaust giving the illusion its cleaner.

Why would the air tubes be an issue?

Leave it to lawyers to complicate stuff needlessly. If you take the last sentence it makes all the other crap useless.
"The engine must meet or exceed the requirements for the year and class of vehicle in which it is installed."
If it passes '79 emission tests why should they give a crap what's under the hood? This is about clean air right?
They want to get as many of the older cars scrapped as possible.
The only reason I can think of is, if you have an '88 that won't pass emissions for that year, putting the drive train in an earlier body would keep a polluter on the road due to the less strict emissions standard for an earlier year.
