removing fuel lines from tank lines
im taking the original fuel lines off my car and have a quick question, i got them all off except the main 3/8 feed line, when i try to disconnect it from the tank hose, fuel keeps coming out and does not seem to want to stop. is there something im missing here? it almost seems to be siphoning out of the tank. the other lines are all off and the fuel cap is loose so there should not be any pressure or anything built up in the tank. help...dont want to burn the garage down or drain my whole tank on the floor

Re: removing fuel lines from tank lines
Im not trying to be a smart a** but why wouldnt it pour out? The line is lower than the tank, gravity is going to drain it. Try a golf tee ot a rubber hose over the end with a bolt in it. Smoke outside

the lines come out of the top of the fuel tank, then drop and run under the car.

It's siphoning out. If you have an air compressor, you can remove the fuel cap, blow air into the line and break the siphon. Otherwise, just drain it out into fuel cans (shouldn't take more than three 5-gal cans).
