Screwed rocker studs? In iron or aluminum heads?

Re: rocker arm studs

well you could use the lock nut method or there is a special tool for instaling and removing all kinds of studs.. think they even have them at satins a-s-s-w-h-o-l-e....(autobone,pepdweebs)

Re: rocker arm studs

I'm assuming these are non-collared, like the mrg 76 or whatever it is? Use two nuts locked together, and torque them to 35ft/lbs.
Use thread sealant, like the liquid teflon stuff. Keeps it from pulling oil into the intake ports. Or loctite if you prefer, but be sure it's sealed.
You could probably use a pipe wrench on it too, and just go by feel. I'd prefer this method, since my locked nuts seem to start to tighten down on the stud too easily, and I didn't want to ruin my nice fine threads.
If it's collared, then it's a lot easier eh? It's got wrench flats so...

Way too much personal information...

Strange how some things look out of context, isn't it?

As he mentioned, a hardening thread sealer is a good idea.
