NOOB question...

This is probably the dumbest question i could ever ask but it kinda got me thinking...whenever i go to fill up on gas i get a loong hiss that comes out of the gas tank, this has never happened with any other car that i have driven and was wondering if this is normal for these cars?

Re: NOOB question...

well its air coming out of the tank that is being displaced as fuel is added to it

how tight does the fill nozzle fit in your fill neck ?

must be pretty tight

if so then that would probably cause it to be audible like that

Do you mean when you first take the cap off?

Re: NOOB question...

Everybody always asks that.

It's normal. All other cars made since the early 80s do it too, some more noticeably than other depending on exactly how their gas tank is made. In fact, in some places, the ONLY physical emissions check that they do to cars, is to test the gas cap to make sure it holds that pressure. Raw evaporating fuel is of course an "emission".
