Motor Build Help/ Suggestions?
Car s a 87 Iroc with a 5 speed manual t-5 .... Later im gonna upgrade to a t-56 when this one decides to give up.
3:73 Posi rear
I want to build a 355 i really dont want to worry about the clearencing and all with a 383.
Needs to be pump gas friendly. Streetable, have a good amount of torque, and still be fun around the corners with quick acceleration also.
I would like to run high 12s low 13s with this motor also. I wont be running it every weekend, Maybe 1 or 2 times a year at the most. I dont want N2O either. I want all the motor to be there at the street and track.
The heads i am for sure gonna use (becuase i have them) Are the "summit" brand vortec heads with 170cc intake runners and 67cc heads. Screw in studs. and springs good up to .560 lift.
Other than the heads and the 350 block .030 over I am up to any suggestions to acheives what im looking for.
Looking for proven combos also such as you have had it or knows a good buddy who has. Or someone who really knows there stuff and has built good strong motors.
also its gonna be carbed.
Thanks in advance. I plan on start ordering parts soon so the sooner i get replys the better. Then i will start a "build Thread" so you guys can follow it to the end if you want.

Re: Motor Build Help/ Suggestions?
Holley 750 man sec carb; Edelbrock RPM or Air Gap intake; good-quality headers; a Comp XR282HR or XE274, depending on the block; Comp or Crower stainless roller rockers; flat-top pistons with the block zero-decked to them (decking will make a BIG difference)
