Check your ECM Fuse which should be located by your Battery on the Right Inner Fender..

Then check the rest of your fuses located under the Drivers panel to make sure none are blown.

There is a minimum voltage that your ECM needs to start your car. I am thinking 10.5 but I am not 100% about that number. If it isn't at what ever that min voltage is it will never start. Usually is a bad power wire to the ecm.

Ensure your fuel pump is working and your car is getting the proper fuel pressure.. Should be around 43lbs roughly with Key On engine off

If this engine was just rebuilt.. after you check the above. You might want to look at your Valve's.. Sounds dumb, But it happened to me. They were never set to the proper lash and it wouldn't restart.

Hope this helps.

well thats a scary thought .the guy i bought it from said the motor was rebuilt by Jaspers, but he didn't say how long ago. he just told me that it ran well when he parked it. it really started it when i unplug the est it started after that but when it stalled it wouldn't restart and hasn't since. just a few small rumbling through the exhaust. if it is the valves do i loosen them?

Check all of your engine-to-body grounds, make sure they are clean and tight. Make sure the the distributor is well grounded and all connections are secure. Have you checked the voltage at the distributor plug? Have you tried a different module?

-If the valve lash was incorrect, the engine either wouldn't run at all or run very poorly. It wouldn't run strong then not at all.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, it sounds like you already know what the problem is !
Pop that module, it'll never start, and set no failure codes because the ECM doesn't know the engine is even cranking.
If it *is* getting fuel, and the spark is even remotely close, it MUST fire, even if it won't run.
