stock l98 or vortec?
Looking for a cheap head upgrade which are better stock iron l98 heads or vortecs?

Better for what?
As long as you don't mind spending the bucks for a Vortec specific intake manifold, and either limiting valve lift to .480" or having the heads modified to take more, the Vortecs would be considered superior in all other respects.

the vortec heads are highly praised by many people. The only negative is the special intake bolt pattern. I have vortecs. No complaints, but I've never driven an L98 to compare.
