Loud Whistleing noise coming from motor??

My 87 tpi camaro had no noise whatsoever one day and the next when I started it up it makes a loud whistleing/blowing of air sound coming from the motor, I'm guessing this is just belts??? or could it be something more serious? As I hit the throttle harder the louder the noise gets.

Any suggestions on what the noise is?

That depends on where it's coming from.

Get a piece of heater hose and stick it in your ear (my favorite thing to tell people to do!!) and probe around with the other end until you pinpoint the source. The appropriate action may immediately become clear.
