1995 lt1 in 1989 gta

hi im building a 1995 lt1 with iron heads. i matched port the intake manifold and the intakes holes on cylinder heads. i will probabely buy CC-TN-227XL 227/233 duration, .560"/.569"at 1,6 ratio, 112lsa. and is the comp springs Beehive cracking problem is fixed? or i should go with other springs? do you think this cam might be too big. i have a standard transmission t-5 worldclass borg. shorty hedman headers and single 3inches freeflow cherrybomb muffler
gonna run all stock tpi TB and sensors and my prom is gonna be PCMFORLESS.COM

and my 1995 lt1 heads rocker stud are pressed in...is it wothed to bring them to a machine shop or its very easy to remove them and tap them my self? because seems expensive 300$ to tap 16holes is there a a reson of that expensive price for an easy job?

thanx waithing for answer soon to order parts needed!

Regarding the Comp Cams beehive springs. It is my understanding the ones now in production are OK. You can always go the safe route and buy the beehives springs form Peterson Automotive Company or PAC. They made the original beehives for Comp Cams are of very high quality. Price is comparable to.

With that cam you will need the screw in rocker arm studs. It is something you can do yourself with the proper tools. I'm not sure of this but you might have to have the heads machined for that much lift. The beehives with the retainer are good to .550" on the Vortec head. Not totally sure on the LT1 heads.

You may also have to slot the push rod passage some so that the pushrod won't bind on the head with the 1.6 rocker ratio. You can assemble things and check the clearance and file where necessary.

IMHO the duration is on the large size for stock LTI heads. Myself I would back it down to something around the 218 degree range with the high lift.

One more thing I forgot to ask. Are you rocker arms self aligning or non self aligning. If the later you will need pushrod guides plates and hardened push rods.

Re: 1995 lt1 in 1989 gta

thanks for your reply finally a follower

ok im not sure how to mix brand because when you stay in the same brand it tell you what to do exactly i dont want to screw the geometry.

my friend is running the 07-508-8 218 230 xe with 1,6 ratio with stock heads....dynoed at 328whp!!!but im affraid of this cam because of alot of low end torke thats why im looking for more duration and i would like to ear a little rough iddle.
because lowend torke is gonna kill my t-5 and 9bolt diff?

http://www.cmotorsports.com/93-97-fb...-97-fbody.html the cam im looking for comes from them

I'd go to camaroz28.com, that's the big LT1 site. Lots of info on LT1 builds, and you'll get more of a response there. I'm a LS1/LC2 guy myself, have dabbled with LT1 cars, but don't know enough to give you a great response.
