Vortec valvetrain????

Ok just got a set of vortecs for almost free. My power goel is around 450 HP and close to the same TQ numbers. What cam will match up good with these heads, will have them ported and polished, bigger springs. ect... and also what size rockers should i run? 1.5, 1.6? would i need to get the heads cut for bigger valves to make this kind of power?
any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Colt

Re: Vortec valvetrain????

i would say the XE 274 if you are planning on a flat tappet cam or the XR270 for a roller... you would be around 420 Fwhp with 10:1+CR

Re: Vortec valvetrain????

bigger than XE274, more compression, single plane intake, big carb, big stall, big rear gear

Re: Vortec valvetrain????

that is better than the 274 but you have to ask yourself... how high do you want to spin this thing to make power? what are you gonna do with it after you have built it?
