Does this electronic rustproofer sound like snake oil?

I live in the rust belt. 'Nuff said.
Surfed the web the other day, found this. Had seen something similar on ShadeTree Mechanics tv program a few years ago. My old chemistry text says the theory is sound, but would it work in practice?

Any thoughts?

Last I checked there was an ample supply of free electrons in the sheet metal of the car.

It's called the charging system.

The charging system doesn't supply electrons, it just makes them move around.

I may be the only one to remember positive ground electrical systems. I think this was the reason that they changed to negative ground systems. I had a '56 Austin Healey with a positive ground system and it rusted all to hell.
Does this gizmo work? Probably. Does your negative ground car already have one on it? Yes.
I can't believe that the website doesn't have any test pictures. Like: "on the left is the unprotected panel and on the right is the protected panel"
If you live in a road salt area, my heart goes out to ya.
I think the only thing that works well up there is the stainless steel Delorean, and they're extinct now ...

Up here in Canada we Rust Check our cars to keep them from rotting out.

It's time tested and works. has to be done once a year, every year.
www.rustcheck.com

There are a few Rust Check dealers in the USA now.
