i keep reading different posts where its said that our motors came and or didnt come from the factory with mahle pistons.

can someone tell me fact or fiction with out

not trying to start anything just like being educated.

Would it make a difference if they were? Mahle happens to be the manufacturer of the stock pistons for lots of engines, but that doesn't mean the pistons themselves are anything special.

 

APEIRON, no big difference, im rebuilding my motor and when i striped it down there were mahle pistons in there and someone posted it must of been previously rebuilt because the factory didnt put mahle pistons in their blocks. so this may lead me in a different diagnosis of why my motor failed. and i keep seeing conflicting info so next time someone askes me " did the factory put mahle pistons in factory 350 chevy blocks" i can give an educated answer.

Yes they did. My 92 had stock Mahle hypers.

 

thanks viprklr, my motor is 92 also and was told the pistons were never replaced, when i pulled them i found mahle pistons, and was told they didnt come stock.

not a big deal because there getting replaced anyway ( BROKEN RING LANDS). it just gives me piece of mind to know the facts.

Thanks. It's down for the count though. I burned through the top/side of the piston and then through the ring seat on 1 piston. Possibly a bad piston. Anywho, it's becoming a 383 earlier than planned. Forged of course.

What really sucks is that it was supposed to be in a car show last Saturday and then again Tuesday of this week. I blew it up Friday afternoon.
