running lean
running lean
I have a mild 350. It was running fine. Then I put on a 52mm throttle body and a stealth ram intake. I had an LT1 intake before so I assumed my chip would be at least close. The problem is if you get on it hard it will stall and if you stay in it, it will backfire. Even if you slowly press down the pedal at about 50% it will do the same thing. It idles fine and drives fine as long as you drive smoothly with no hard acceleration. I did a datalog and saw that when this happens the O2 voltage nosedives off the chart until I let off. I tried changing my burn to richen it up by changing the FI canstant but no change. I'm not getting any ecm codes, which seems wierd to me but anyway. I already tried a new distributer and checked the Tps all with no change. Has anyone else ever had a similar problem. I have checked everything i can think of. Fuel pressure is at 48lbs same as before. If i left out something let me know. Thanks for any help in advance.

What kind of fuel injectors do you have??? If you still have 305 Fuel injectors they are probably going static at higher RPM's. Get WinALDL data logging program and post your BLM's. Also go to TPI forum for more info.

I'm a little skeptical that it's the injectors simply because you said it also happens when you slowly depress the pedal to about 50%. I cant imagine your injectors going static under this condition. Do you have EGR?
Re: running lean
First off thanks for the help. I feel like a real idiot. Like I said, before I changed the intake it was running fine. It sat for about a month while i got the parts together. Then once I got it running it ran like crap so of course i thought it was something I had done. It was the fuel filter. I guess it's like they say check the simplest stuff first.
