another HVAC vacuum control question
ok well took apart the dash today because im tired of not being able to use my heater controls and found that the colored vacuum lines that hook up to that rotary vacuum switch are fine, but the switch itself is leaking.. i noticed that if i squeezed and pushed and pulled on it i could get it to quit leaking for a while but it would start again.
has anyone had any luck getting them to seal up again? if not, where can i find one besides the junk yard? my local auto parts store dont have any is this a dealer only item? thanks guys

Re: another HVAC vacuum control question
Carefully remove the clip, disassemble the two rotary valve halves, clean everything, apply clean silicone grease to the tow mating surfaces, and reassemble the valve.
I've had pretty good success with that.

As long as the plastic parts aren't broken, and you can get the clip to go back on and clamp it together right, there's nothing else there to go wrong.
Otherwise, get one from the buzzard. Nearly any GM car of about the same age uses the same switch.
