keep getting code 12

keep getting code 12
Whats up? for some reason when I try pulling the trouble codes from my '89 GTA all I keep getting is the code 12 (right after the initial code 12) and so on. What exactly does this code mean?

Right; it means the engine isn't spinning.
If that's the only one you see, then there are no codes stored; and the ECM is happy.

Code 12 is a check code. If you don't get a code 12, your car has ECM problems.
