help with casting numbers

this guy has a set of heads that he had rebuilt for a 1976 Chevy 350. he's not sure of the valve size thinks the intake is a 192 & the exhaust is a 94 but not for sure. wants $150

heres the casting # he gave me 8437389 i couldn't find em

deal or not? i'm sure i'll work it down to 100

i got a guy who's letting go a 350 for $100 but it has bad valve seals thinking this might be a good idea help me out are they good heads or crap i'm a put a carb on it

Chevy 355 CI engine block with crank and pistons installed. This engine was built by Haps Racing Engines in Ames, Iowa. The engine is a 2 bolt block with a stock crank and rods. Rods were checked and side clearanced. 11:1 compression pistons and 190,000 psi chrome alloy rod bolts. The rotating assembly was balanced. The oil pump is a stock type with a high pressure relief spring installed. The pickup is for a lefthander pan Block has oil restrictors and an oil galley screen kit installed. I also have a 'Bullet' brand racing cam, solid lifters, and a double roller timing chain that go with the engine. The cam specs are as follows: Grind # CHS 285/295-6F. 250/260 duration@ .50 , 106 degree lobe seperation, 285/295 duration @.020 and gross valve lift of .532/.555. comeing with a set of 64cc vortec heads that hse been remachined.was bought for a drag car but never finished.

Re: help with casting numbers

thinking too good to be try sounds like alot of work for 600$ plus you wont run that engine on the street like that it is way to much cam for a street 350 and to much for those heads... but you have to remember it is craigs list so go take a look take pics and bring them back here... you may find he has a really good engine for sale @600 or you may find he has some junk 350 with spun mains and knurled crank with a ridge in the cylinders that goes down about 1/4 of an inch and a bunch of cracked pistons... but not everyone is a liar
