accel plug help
I have been searching this sight and the net trying to find a accel plug heat range and cross ref. chart. I am running accel 576s right now but they are dry fouling. I am not sure if i have over jetted, need to go a step hotter or need a different gap size. They were just a guess at what i needed. I found a lot of info here http://www.sparkplugs.com/ but they do not have any accel info.
Are those considered a cold plug?
Anyone know of an NGK or ac-delco equivelant? Must be tapered seat and shorties.

Re: accel plug help
the accel 576 is the proper heat range for the 305. I run them on my 84 with stock jetting in Qjet. which carb are you using and what is your current jetting. try to give some basic details about your engine combo.

Re: accel plug help
I have a gw. 350 bottom end, 190cc al. heads, comp xe 274, holley 670 w/vac sec. 74 on the primary and 68 on the sec., aftermarket hei, and hooker shorties.
I am still trying to get it all fine tuned and it has been no fun trying to guess at timing, plugs etc. etc. I went by holley's info on getting it jetted right because the 64's it came with were def. too lean.
thanks

Re: accel plug help
ok found part of your problem. the 576 plugs are great for the 305 iron heads, Accel recomends their 414s or 416s plugs for the aluminum heads. they look the same as the 576 but disipate heat better in alluminum.
