takes it time to crank/start
My 1986 trans am is a 305 tpi fuel injected automatic
my car takes a god 4-5 secs to start while holding the key turned in the ignition.
I put so much work into it and though it runs a heck of alot better that first start of the day jsut stinks in my opinion.
i have tuned it up nicely with new:
cap/rotor
ign. wires/plugs
ignition module
battery
egr valve
hoses
throttle body
water pump
cleaned plenum and runners
freshly brand new ford 19lb fuel injectors
temp sensor
cold start swtich sensor
belts
adjustable fuel pressure regulator with new diaphram
rebuilt/refurbished MAF sensor
k&n filter
new fuel filter
new ignition cylinder with new car key
pcv valve and hoses
new air temp sensor
IAC valve
calibrated the TPS
Any ideas why my car doesnt wana crank/turn over/ jsut start as i turn my key?
why i have to hold the key turned for like a good slow 4-5secs?
dirty connections at the starter?
bad fuel relay and the car is relying on oil pressure sender to start?
or just dam* old car and nothing i can do about it?

Re: takes it time to crank/start
not sure i know what you mean by tumblers. i replaced the slot where the car key goes because the key was soooo worn down i couldnt even get the ignition to turn.
plus someone told me all the worn off metal is inside the key hole and since i couldnt make a copy of the worn key i went to teh dealership and got a new key and ignition cylinder.
so what are you referring to?
