WTF?? L99 engine? Please help
Guys,
I recently acquired an LT1 engine. At least I thought I did. I brought it home and started tearing it down. I do not know the history on it. All I know is that it came out of a 94 caprice classic. The block casting # is 10168588. It says it is a 265 cubic inch, 4.3 Liter V8? What makes this engine displacement different from a "regular" LT1? Crankshaft throw? My plans were to get the LT4 package for it (Cam, rockers, intake, & heads). Will this even work with this engine? Please help!

The L99 265 is basically the LT1 concept, except the block has the 305s 3.736" bore. It has the 305 rings and L03 TBI/L30 305 Vortec pistons in it. The engineers decided to use a 3" stroke crankshaft. To make the 305 pistons work with the 3" stroke crankshaft, they decided to use a 5.94" long rod. The heads are cast-iron, but have smaller 1.84/1.50" valves.
