i just have got the 355 in my camaro.....i have her wired up as best i can tell with the spark plug wires on all the right terminals.....it absolutely wont crank unless u retard the electronic timimg.....it runs like **** until u advance timing a lil bit.....even though it evens out on advancment....it still pops and carries on..... ANY BODY KNOW WHAT THIS COULD BE?

 

You TPI or carb?

Sounds like your off a tooth, or 180* off.

Get her back to TDC compression stoke and start over,
walk the cam till she is pointing directly at the #1 cylinder.

If TPI, Does it change when you connect/disconnect
your EST bypass? I think you just need to try again?

it's carbed....it aint 180 out....i done fixed that problem eariler today....i may try just doing it over....i remember when i put the dist. in the pointer was like half way in between terminals.....but like i say......the more i advance.....the better it runs
