Starting Issues
I have a 1988 Iroc-Z, with a pretty much stock 350 (with about 232,xxxkm's). Every time that I start the engine when it is cold, i need to crank it at least 3 times and then it finally starts. Now, that's not the only issuse. The car might start on the first or second tip, but it only runs for a few seconds and then it dies....and when you finally do get it started after the 2nd or 3rd tip, it sputters. The idle lopes between about 0 - 700rpm and then smooths out after about 30 seconds. Now, when you give it throttle, even a small amount, it sputters violently again. It is possible to get the car moving and once you get up to about 10mph there is no real issue unless you try to give it more than about 1/3 throttle. But it still sputters violently every time you give it gas. As soon as the engine gets to operating temperature there are no more issues at all. Well, it sputters any time that you punch the throttle, but no issuse if you slowly or even somewhat quickly depress the gas pedal. I think it's just the fuel injectors for that part, but I have no clue what to do about the starting issue. The starting issues only happen when the engine is cold. Not justcool, but sitting for 8 hours like when i'm at work. I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, We get moderate temperature here. Lately the temp. has been around 23 celsius.
Thanks for you help in advance!

Re: Starting Issues
are you showing any codes? sounds like a bad sensor, either MAT/IAT or ECT sensors arent making the ECM idle up your car on initial start up.

Re: Starting Issues
It would be worth the time to check the cap and rotor, and probably some other ign parts too!
