Need engine advice
I recently purchased a TA and have been busy giving it the TLC it deserves. It's cleaning up quite nicely. However, The engine needs some (a lot) tuning and I'm not at all an expert in that area. Here are the relevant specs:
383 ci
Forged 10.5;1 pistons
Ported edelbrock performer heads (170cc intake?)
1.5 roller rockers
Comp Cams Hyd. roller 230/234 528/539 110lsa
30lb injectors
52mm throttlebody
Ram Air setup
SLP Intake
1 3/4 shorty headers with 3" catback
T5 Manual transmission.
10 bolt rear w/3.73 gears
First, what do you think of this engine setup. Is it a good combo? Is there anything that I should change? How much HP/Torque should this produce.
I'm not looking for exact answers, but I need some kind of idea on what to expect and where to start tuning and/or changing components.
Thanks, Nick

Re: Need engine advice
It's a 1988 TA, so I believe it uses a MAF. It is a TPI setup.

Re: Need engine advice
Thanks for the dyno. I was hoping the HP would be a little higher, but the torque looks great.
The full injection is not exactly stock. The injectors are much larger (30 lb/hr) and the intake plenum is an SLP. Also, I believe the fuel rails are different. I'm assuming/hoping that the fi was setup to match the cam. However, it does seem to run rich. I'm guessing thats due to the cam.
that is a pretty big cam... especially for a Stock FI setup
