What type of o2 sensor?

I have lots of engine mods, as well as headers and free flowing exhaust. I am having problems with my car missing just a little thru-out the rpm range. I was just reading another thread were somebody was asking about puting a heated o2 sensor in. Does anyone think that this will fix my problem and if so does anyone have a part # or aplication of which o2 sensor to use?
Thank you very much for any help.

No.

"Missing" is the description usually given to uneven running, where one or more cyls fail to produce power as much as other cyls do. This means that "missing" is an issue localized TO THOSE PARTICULAR cylinders.

The O2 sensor provides the ECM with information that it then uses to adjust fuel delivery to ALL cylinders.

How can a thing that is used identically by ALL cyls, affect ONE of them unequally? Right.... it can't. Forget about that. Move on.

Start by checking your tune-up; plugs, plug wires, etc. A burnt plug wire is a favorite cause of a "mystery" miss. Watching the engine run in total darkness may even be helpful, because that allows you to see if a wire is arcing.

If all of that is good, take a look at your injectors. Check their resistance and make sure they're all within a few tenths of an ohm of each other (consistent). That's no guarantee that they're "good", but it will at least eliminate one of their possible forms of being "bad". Might not be a bad idea to soak them overnight, or longer even, in lacquer thinner, to clean them up a bit. Use a noid light on each one's wire, make sure it's getting the signal to fire.

Next, try adjusting the valves, with the engine running and fully warmed up; one at a time, back each one off until it clatters, then tighten it until it JUST BARELY shuts up; then shut the engine off,and tighten ALL 16 ½ turn more.

If that doesn't help, do a compression test.

Be logical and scientific about your troubleshooting. A bunch of "maybe it's this, maybe it's that", along with an attitude of mysticism and voodoo, is pretty much an ironclad guarantee that you'll never get it to work right.
