aight, i had a guy build a 350 for my 83. its bored 30 over, w/ .470 lift and 300 adv. duration cam. medium rise intake hei distributor. three angle valve job ported heads edelbrock performer carb headers slp xpipe loud mouth exhaust th700 r4 tranny with the most wicked shift kit i have ever felt
ok.. with all that being said (prob not needed):
this is my first swap, everything brand new. i have been driving the car for about 2 months breaking it in easy. ive been driving it with the timing set @ 15 degrees adv. (on the tab at the harmonic balance with the vaccum adv. unplugged) ok now ive had some guys tell me thats fine and others tell me it should be about 6-8 degrees any pointers and explain why so ill know what im doing

I think you should check for knock at full throttle, but I think you should be running at 8 deg adv with that set up. the tpi small blocks are the only motor i heard of running 12 deg static timing without being built up .
