Look for a 4-digit number. It's been a few years, but I believe it's typically cast on a runner behind the carb mount.

Re: intake ID

thanks... is there a place to look up the number or will it be the same as a current number on a new intake? Also will I need to know what type it is to tune the carb? ie single plan dual plan that sorta stuff

Re: intake ID

On the older Weiand intakes, the model # is usually located behind the water neck area, and the newer ones are usually between the carb pad and the distributor hole. As stated above, it's usually a 4 digit number. I know the X-Celerator series off the top of my head (#'s 7546 and 7547). The Action Plus series dual planes are the 8000 series, and the Stealth dual plane is 8150/8151. If you can find the cast #, just go to Holley's website and look it up. Holley owns the Weiand brand, so their site should have most of them listed. Summit Racing is another good site to look up the part #'s. There's also the Team G single planes, but I seriously doubt you have one of those since they have no place on a street engine. Rpm range is like 3800-up. If you're sure it's a single plane, it's most likely an X-Celerator. Great intakes. I have the #7546 on my 69 Camaro's motor, and it works awesome.

You won't need to know what type it is to tune the carb - to tune the carb, you just get it to run properly.

Knowing what type it is would be helpful in knowing whether it's the right thing for your engine combination and usage.

Oh, I believe the part number is also cast on the underside - at least it was on some of them.

Re: intake ID

Was up to the T/A last night to move it into its resting area for winter and decided to go looking for the number on the intake...no numbers behind the water neck so I moved to the back of the carb...didn't see anything there ethier pretty much right under the carb front and back it says weiand and thats all I can find, it kinda looks like a big X..I'm heading back up there on wednesday so I'm gonna take some stuff with me and see if its by the distributor hole it was pretty dirty there so maybe I didn't clean it off enough.
