Has anyone purchased a Comp cams roller cam recently? Surface finish Question

Hey guys, I just bought and installed a brand new Comp cams retrofit roller cam. One thing I noticed, was that the bearing journals on this cam were not bright polished, like chrome, like any of the other new cams I have owned before. The journals were machined and were smooth, and somewhat shiny, but not highly polished super bright shiny like I'm used to.

Can anyone who has owned a new Comp Roller cam tell me if they noticed the same thing, or were your journals super super bright shiny polished, out of the box?

I am probably worried about nothing, but I have heard complains about comp's quality control lately, which scares me. I have already assembled the engine in the car and am not about to take it apart, but I'd like some peace of mind so I can sleep at night.

Thanks!

I bought an XFI268 about a month ago... the best I can recall, all journals were brightly polished.

I called comp and they said that on the retrofit roller cams, like I have, a ground machined finish that isn't bright polished is normal. I hope they are right! Thanks

Yeah, the journals look fine, I was just expecting bright polished vs. a machined ground finish. Oh well
