Harmonic balancer Need help!!!!
I have a 383 stroker motor internally balanced. The crank broke right before the #1 and 2 rods on the pin. Now I put up a post before and you guys told me that if it had broke there then its because I put a stock harmonic balancer on my motor. So I know that an ATI would be the way to go but I'm at a loss at what type of material and what size of the balancer to get. I can't afford to screw this thing up again so any help would greatly be appreicated.

Use the biggest balancer you can. I have a fluiddamper, but the ati or other brands would work also.
If it's truly internally balanced, then I wouldn't think the stock balancer is a problem unless it's worn out.

The stock balancer will not break your crank. Was your balancer part of the balanced rotating assembly? I have the same deal. 383 stroker internally balanced, stock damper. It was ALL balanced together. I've had no problems.
I'm partial to fluidampr though.
