Incr. FP for HP?!

I was reading about increasing fuel pressure on fbody.org, and they have a chart of a dyno pull on a 350 TBI where they increased the fuel pressure on a stock engine. At 52 psi peak HP was up by like 40 and torque was similar. Is this really true? Can you gain power on a TPI motor by just giving it more pressure?

Re: Incr. FP for HP?!

makes sense only if the engine is being starved for fuel. that's a big jump. It is one of the mods listed in one of the articles though.

Re: Incr. FP for HP?!

stock pressure for a TBI is supposed to be 12 psi and anything overthat will make extra power according to the article.

As said, only if it already doesn't have enough fuel. Otherwise, increasing the fuel pressure and the volume of fuel delivered will reduce power.

Tuning the mixture via changing the fuel pressure is a crutch for those who are unwilling or unable to burn chips.
