another dumb question from the noob!

i want to change my intake on my 91 rs camaro. i would like to get rid of the throttle body and go with a carb also. here is what i think i will have to do. let me know if i am wrong.

first i will get rid of the intake and put the new intake on.
second would be to add the carb of my choice.
third would be to disconnect the ecm.
forth would be to start the car and dial in the new carb.

now i know there are some things that i am missing. but this is the jist of it right?

if i could find an intake that i could use and not get rid of the throttle body i would but i have not been able to find one. i have looked on summit and jegs and the only ones that i can find is for tpi cars. if you know an intake that i could use with the throttle body please post that link. thanks for all the help.

Re: another dumb question from the noob!

If you want to change tom a carb there is more to it. Your gonna need a different dist. Summit has a decent hei dist for around 75. Also your throttle bracket will be different. And youll need the manifold that will fit 85-92 style heads. not to mention youll need a fuel pressure regulator to knock the pressure down to 7-8 psi. The one i have is a holley. Hope this helps a bit.

As far as intakes to to keep the tbi. If i remember right both holley and edelbrock make one.

You can use VIRTUALLY ANY 4-barrel intake, and an adapter.
