I just bought a 1991 RS it had a V6 but someone had pulled the sixer out and put in a V8 I was told it was an LT1 from a 1991 corvette ( don't think so) The cating numbers are 14093638 the only ifo I can find is that it is a roller engine, 5.7, made from 87-94. The guy said it had all the fuel injection stuff on it but they took it off and scrapped it So it has a cast intake on it for a carb. I want to put it back fuel injection but I dont know what I can put back on it. Can I put TPI, TBI, or maybe an LT1 intake if possible? If anyone can tell me more about this engine and what I can put back on it I greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.

This may be a good time to go with an aftermarket computer such as megasquirt. You could do HSR with a megasquirt, and it would work very well.

 

Have no idea what happened to the efi stuff they took off. What is HSR? ( sorry for the noobness) I am very familiar with MS systems, that would be the best route.

 

Holley Stealth Ram... Its an alternate EFI intake which ia a bit pricey. Or, you could go with a cheaper factory intake.

The reason I asked about the computer and wiring harness is because if it is all there you could use a GM ECM with a lot of wiring and repinning. However, If you have to start from scratch, migh as well upgrade while you are at it. The MS will run a Small block chevy without a problem.

 

Which factory intake could I use? I'm not sure what really came on my engine and what will interchange. Can I use TPI, LT1, etc? Thanks for the replies

Beyond that, "which engine" is a pretty much open-ended question, given the ENDLESS interchange possibilities with the SBC.

What head castings are on it?

Yes you can put basically ANY FI on it.
