I am looking to buy a 1985 camaro and the seller told me he had "the 350 rebuilt." i am wondering if he thinks that it is a 350 and is ignorant and doesnt know if it is a 305. or if he swapped a rebuilt 350 in there. he also said he has all of the receipts.

the carb that is on there is a Holly 650 Double Pumper, so would that make a difference or anything?

are there different bolt patterns on the valve covers or anything like that i can tell the difference?


i have been out of the camaro world for a while now and am excited to get back in.

 

Check the casting numbers at the back of the block, or take it apart and measure. There are no other ways.

 

i dont want to tear in the engine if i am not going to buy it. where exactly are the casting numbers and what would the casting numbers say different?
