dart 180's vs SDPC vortec's

Which flow better after the price of the intake for the vortecs there about the same cost? Building a 350 with a comp 230 236 .477 .490 110lsa cam and cant decide on which heads.

The vortecs typically work better. They have better flow at low valve lift, which puts them in the lead. That's why that combination is so popular.

They outflow them in the low range, and your cam will spend 90% of the time down there. *If* the darts outflow the vortecs it'd only be by a hair, in the .500" range. ie. you'll make more power with the vortecs.

Re: dart 180's vs SDPC vortec's

I have a set of the dart 180's (iron eagles) and have flowed and ported both these and vortecs. dart 180s flow 208cfm in stock form. Vortecs flow 228cfm in stock form.

After porting the darts, these ones flow 238cfm from a now ++180cc port.
After porting vortecs they flow (mine) 247cfm from a +170cc port with excellent velocity. 2.02-1.60" manley valves.

I'm not impressed with the Dart 180 iron eagles at all.
The larger improved (platinum series) Darts are a lot better.
The 180's are not part of the platinum series.

The vortecs even in stock form are all around very very good. They make very good power and a ton of torque right where you use it. You won't be disappointed in the vortecs.

Having worked with both the heads you are looking at, the vortecs are much better and your better choice.
