Suggestions???
In preperation for my new Holley carb to replace the Edelbrock (going with a 82651 holley street hp), I just got a new set of Fel-Pro 1206 intake gaskets and am going to gasket match the intake and heads.Any ideas on the process and should I also smooth out or port the top of the intake where the carb sits? Also as a few friends have told me to get a different cam for my combo anyone have any suggestions for a cam and lifter swap? I only drive it occasionally and am interested in maybe going to the track every once ina while and not make an embarassment of myself. It currently has 9.6:1 c.r. and all the other things listed in my sig. Any help-suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks!

Re: Suggestions???
I think your current cam is pretty good, I wouldn't change it.
Port matching doesn't do a whole lot, but focus on the top of intake port wall. Bring that as high as you can.
Some people cut the divider wall down a bit on their dual plane intakes. Something to think about, i'm not entirely sure the point of it though.
Otherwise i'd leave the carb area alone.

Re: Suggestions???
great ideas thanks! I'll try to follow your advise on the upper part of the port and probably leave the carb area untouched BTW just picked up the Feb '08 Hot Rod and in it theres an article on porting intake manifolds. Though much more than anything i can aspire to but he did get up to 13 hp. more versus as cast. Of course i'm going to go simple and do as suggested.
