Tires too big!!

I dont know if this is the right place for this but, I just got my tires mounted on my draglites. 15x10. 5.5 backspacing. The tires are mickey thompson. 29x11.5.

They stick out just past the fender. Even if I roll the lip, I think its going to hit. I didnt have to do any beating in the wheel well or remove the bumpstop. Im about an inch-1.5 from it. Even the wheel itself seems to be flush with the fender, so a smaller tire may not do it. It looks like if I had a 6.5 bs it would be ok. I have almost 2 inches from the control arm.
Heres some pictures.

Re: Tires too big!!

5.5" backspacing is about the max for a stock width rear axle. If it were me i'ld roll the fender lip and step down to some 28's or even 27's. But that's just my 2-cents.

Re: Tires too big!!

Well what I noticed today was that my axle isnt centered. Whoops. I tried putting the wheel on the side that was out farthest. I have an adjustable track bar, so I'll fix that and they may work. It was off about 1 3/4 inch. Thatll pull it in almost an inch. Its always dumb stuff.

I've heard these tires are the largest you can fit. I'll just burn these on the street, and when the season starts, I'll get a smaller better tire. I know guys running low 10 quarters with 275's. But I dont want to run a real sticky tire on the street. We'll see how these work. They are cheap tires and hard so they will last a bit. Hopefully I can break them loose a little.
