On my 92 formula the gas guage is messing up. When the tank is empty the gas guage shows that it is at 3/4 but when i fill it up it goes Past the full mark. Why is it doing this? should i just adjust the needle?

my car just stays at 3/4. i will do some searching.
I have done some searching but most of the info I have found is that everyones needle is stuck at one point and doesn't move.
Mine actually moves but goes past full when I fill it up and goes as far down as 3/4 when completly empty. so it is kinda working but it bothers me that it isn't set right. I was thinking that if I take it apart That maybe all i need to do is reposition the needle, or would it just go back to where it is now? any thoughts?

In my camaro I run in to that problem. Does yours also...start with a 1/2 tank, hit the throttle and you've got 1/4 tank-hit the brakes and now you've got nearly a full tank.
Yea-if anyone has a tip/trick...let me in!!!!

i thought that 90% of camaros once you got somewhat past F like at 3/4 it would dive down when you hit brakes and go up when you gas it (not a huge movement but some)

my old 87 camaro would be at half, go up to full upon acceleration and 1/4 on braking. at least you have a remote idea of how much fuel you have compared to it just staying at 3/4
