new engine
so i have a 86 trans am right now
i just put a comp cam in it over the summer
but now i wanna totally re-do everything
i want all new internals
i heard about a 327 stroker? i kinda wanna build it.
i no what your all saying just get a 350 but i dont want to just toss a 350 into it like everyone else..
but my question is
im not a great engine builder i have no clue really what to buy.. im only 18 years old
but what are some good strong internals that would work for a nice stroker
i dont want serious serious horsepower but i do want *****
if someone could help me out that be great
-kory-

Re: new engine
let me be the first to help you. Dont waste your money on a stroked 305 to make a "327". Get a 350 block and stroke it. It will cost the same, if not less, and make MUCH more power. Its like getting free hp. If you dont know much about this stuff, you need to find a knowledgeable local person NOW, before you get ripped off.

Re: new engine
I agree go the 350 route I know thats not what you wanted to hear but its just more worthwile and plus when you get bit by the more power bug (we all do!) you wont have to get another motor to squeeze more out of it without spending big $$$...

Re: new engine
thanks for the answers.
i think i am going the 350 route
after talkin with my dad.
just thinking in the long run it will make more sense.
but one more question
to make some power
like new internals? not going crazy but realistly how much should i be looking to spend? im not talkin port and polish or anything like that
