89 350 cam w/1.6rr in 87 305
Ive got an 1987 ta w/305tpi, I got a cam out of an 89 350 l98 from a member when I was buying a stall converter from him. I was thinking of putting it in my 305 with a set of 1.6 roller rockers. I have a ported plenum but other than that the 305 is stock. Does anyone think this will be worth the time spent on it? Anyone ever do this? Here are the different cam specs. 305 179/194 .350/.384 109deg 350 cam 207/213 .443/.459 117 deg lift is with 1.6 rr. thanks for any info

Probably not.... it's definitely better than the one that's there now, but as far as whether it's better enough to reward the expense and trouble of doing it, probably not.
On the other hand, if for some reason you've already got that part of it torn down doing something else like head work or something, then yeah, go ahead and swap it out at that time. But for as relatively little difference as it will make, vs the time, money, trouble, and risk it will put you through, probably not worth it.
