If i will be doing a major upgrade via heads cam intake to my motor, do i need a new harmonic balancer. I wont be going over 6k with my motor. I see that they are very expensive and i dont want to spend it if i have to

You can get a good quality stock replacement one, like a Pioneer, for about $50. Probably not a bad idea, especially if the rubber in your stock one is starting to come apart.

You probably don't "need" to buy an ATI, or anything like that.

I'd avoid the cheeep "made in China" ones like CAT and such, that you see all over eBay. "Chrome.... meets SFI spec blah blah blah...." [note: does NOT say "SFI certified", just "meets spec" .... kind of like the cheeep Asian knock-off starters that say "OEM style" or "OEM spec", which is not at all the same as "OEM"]. Run away.

You can get Pioneer at Advance, CSK, your local machine shops, etc.; as well as "real" parts stores like Parts Plus, CarQuest, etc. Maybe AutoZone.

 

Well i was headin to get a tranny cooler for my car tomorrow. I can get a price. thanx. I herd i can get a diesel trans cooler for like 30 bux. That will work. I havent put in the hsr yet or the gears. I got em today. lol

BTW i been havin some shifting problems with it. It just is slow to shift. I was gonna drop the pan and replenish it. GOod idea?

On the trans, yeah you could try that. You sure don't want that going on with a more powerful motor and shorter gears, it won't survive very long at all like that.

 

lol if it lasts 2-3 months id be a happy man. Its jus tthat i have money for heads and cam, but not the tranny. pr i have money for tranny and not heads and cam. so im kinda torn.
