Fuel pump controller/booster help

Im looking for a pump controller that will boost voltage also. I found an MSD voltage booster but it seems it wont produce volts lower than factory. The Aeromotive fuel pump controller doesnt seeem to put out extra volts.
I'm planning on running E85 which increases the demand on my fuel system, the A1000 will be near its limit at WOT. Id rather overjuice it for a couple seconds twice a month, rather than run new line and another or new pump.

Looking for the best of both worlds!!!!

But in a more badass pump. The Walbro 255 seems to be a rather popular choice, provides plenty of fuel, and fits in the stock location. Quick (relatively) painless, and not too difficult......

Running larger diameter wires back to the pump prolly wouldn't hurt either.....

Haven't heard of anyone doing that for quite some time. Last time I messed with a pump controller it was a Kenne Bell "boost-a-pump" that would jump up the voltage to around 16-17V when you activated it (stock voltage when you didn't). Don't know if they still offer it.

Hell yea he still does. 230 bucks for the 20 amp, 250 for the 40. I got all excited, it doesnt reduce voltage though. I'm planning on using this when I convert over to E85. Maybe with that fuel, the A1000 wont get as hot cirulating the fuel at idle.

MSD offers one too, but its 300 bucks.

This is a heck of a lot cheaper than running another pump and line.

I can understand wanting to increase voltage but why would you want to reduce it? Lower voltage is going make it run hotter, IMHO. As voltage drops, aperage increases. Amperage = heat. I don't think you're going to be doing your pump any favors by reducing running voltage down to, say, 9V.

Pumps were built to run at 12. They'll take 16 for a considerable length of time when you need fuel flow to keep up with demand. But dropping it..... why? Your return regulator will just bypass what you don't need anyway.

I figured it would drop the heat. Circulating the fuel slower, giving it more time to cool before it hits the pump again. I'll take your word for it about the amps, I dont know much about electric stuff.

Whats aeromotive's fuel pump controller do then? I've given up on that though. The car isnt a daily driver, and doesnt go on long trips. I'm going to run it with E85, and if I notice a drop in AFR at WOT, I'll pick up the booster. But I only need the voltage upped at like 8lbs of boost. The ones I see turn it up at 3 or 4. I can't tell just how adjustable they are.

I wonder if the ethanol would keep the pump cooler than gas? I imagine it would since it absorbs heat better from the air than gas.

They're not very tunable, but they don't need to be. Anytime you get near the point you need the extra fuel flow, kick it in. If you only need it at 8 lbs of boost, then kicking it in at 3 lbs. is just fine. Whatever extra fuel flow it doesn't need will just get bypassed back to the tank. Always better to have more fuel supply than you need. Not enough fuel supply is the only bad thing.
