SO my spark knock wasnt exactly...a spark knock
Just found out today, quite to my suprise that my tranny mount was kinda on its way out and here i was thinking the shaking was a spark knock.....well......i decided to do a nice u-turn today and light em up and in doing so i must have helped my mount take its final blow. Trannys fine, nothing major but i didnt realize it until i was driving and my shifter just kinda lifted up out of my hand lol. so when i got it to school i threw it up on the lift and made sure my motor mounts weren't the culprit, those are fine, but the tranny mount is definitely done for. Called up checker and the new mount is only 10$, so i might just throw it on, until then i just have to baby the gas pedal.
Anyone done the mounts on this before? any tips? is it hard? better yet, can i do it in under 2 hours? if so ill just do it at school

Lol, I guess thats one good thing about a manual trans. When my trans mount let go, I didn't know about it until I took off from a light hard, and the trans lifted up and smacked the tunnel.

If you're going to replace it, use a poly mount so you'll never have to worry about it again.

It took me 5 stock-type mounts being broken within hours of installation after I put my 383 in to realize this. IMO the people who make the stock type mounts and sell them as worthy replacement parts, should be shot.

i would agree with a 383 u need an aftermarket mount.. then again i got a 2.8 so i don't realy need an aftermarket one..

yeah it was definitly easy to fix, unfortunately im kinda broke right now cuz i just had to shell out money for school, so i just went with the cheap one from checker, i'm gonna go through and replace all my mounts soon with the poly ones but for now this works, still lifts a BIT but i think thats my engine mount, i need a new driver side one soon lol
