Bore question
Bore question
Greetings,
When you grind your crankshafts journals, does it affects the crankshaft sprocket? I need to remplace it and I'm wondering if I should buy a stock one or will the bore affect the center size of the sprockets?
Thank you.

The normal grind is just the main and rod bearing journals. They won't touch the snout. If there's damage, that would require welding to build up the material so it could be ground back to the standard size. I've never heard of it being done, though.
