Need more RWHP!!

Ok I have an 84 Z28 I need more power I will be getting some SFC for strength due to having t-tops but I would like to add some power to my stock z28 5 speed. I do have a 350 TBI in my 88 Blazer I was thinking of swapping in and putting the 305 in the blazer should I? \

What do you guys think I should do? 350 swap or bolt on performance or both?

I'm looking for around 300 to 350hp on a carb.

Re: Need more RWHP!!

It would be a good swap depending on if you want the power loss in your blazer. your t5 might not like the 350 if you do a lot of work to it, and ditto if you have a 10 bolt.

Re: Need more RWHP!!

Your t5 (and in fact mine) are not meant for that kind of power. Im between the range of 300 to 350 hp I'd say...I haven't gotten a dyno yet but I'm easily in that range and I got a rebuilt t5 that since my v6 swap I've put 1k miles on. Just remember you'll have an easier time gettin that 350 to your horsepower range over that 305. Exhaust would be good, but its just a start. Look at my sig and see what I have done to my car...it'll give you some good ideas of where to start

I agree^

a 305 in a blazer... ehhh you would be better off picking up a junkyard 350 and rebuilding it for the camaro, theyre a dime a dozen.

Re: Need more RWHP!!

i would swith to the 350 defitly i did and dropped 1.5 sec on et. If your not building it for racing weekly simply add things such as a bigger exhaust, manifold, bigger carb, 3.73 gears with 295 tire, and put a shift kit in the tranny that can with hold 400 hp, and go with aluminum heads.

its alot of money to get 350 hp so sumtimes its better to just buy a new crate motor for 4 or 5 grand

Yes, as can I. I have a signature and I'm not technical with these things so I'm not too sure why you can't see mine or others...
