Windshield Wipers are not going all the way up??

New Problem: My windshield wipers we I go to turn them on go on but just go up about 2-3 inches then return back down as if I shut it off....Anyone have any ideas???

I'm thinking it has to be a vacuum problem but for some reason I can't find my chiltons and can not figure this out at all.

Anyone have any similar problems or any advice on what I can do?

Thanks John

RRRRrr, scratch that, the blades don't even go up an inch (don't know why iIsaid 2-3).....it's as if you turned them on quick then just shut them off again, and the only setting I get any response in is in high.

The wipers aren't run off vacuum.
I would say that you need a new wiper switch. It's a pita to install. I actually have to install my replacement this weekend. Mine don't work at all anymore.

Re: Windshield Wipers are not going all the way up??

Thanks for the suggestion, and I found my chiltons and realized not a vacuum problem. The only reason I thought that to begin with was I noticed how shotty the vacuum lines were that ran into the wiper pump, I guess that why the washers don't work...lol. But still no luck on solving the problem, I'm going to be getting to buisness today and I'll report back with how everyhting worked out, I'm hoping to fix it before I leave to go away tomrrow so I don't have to deal with it when I get back.

Anymore help is greatly appreciated. I'm sure i'll be stopping here periodically throughout the day.

Thanks john

Re: Windshield Wipers are not going all the way up??

Alright, problem is solved!! I pulled the motor and pump off, looked around found that one of the prongs to the connector had broke, fixed that with some ingenuity, now my new problem is trying to fix the vacuum lines to get the waser fluid to work. I have no idea how to route those lines, but I posted up in the TPI forums hoping someone might have a diagram.
