a couple of issues
OK,I just finished removing the rerst of my A/C stuff to make room for the 1LE A/C delete box I won off of ebay.I rerouted acouple of coolant hoses and eliminated the vacume selonoid thing that I think controlls the egr, which is also gone.I also removed the vapor canister.I plugged all vacume hoses and ports that I removed,This was teusday.Today I noticed coolant on my floormat.I cleaned it up and put it back so I can keep my eye on it.The bottom of the dash where the heater core is,is a little damp as well.Could I have somehow jarred or damaged the heater core when I was removing things,or is it just coincidince. Also my car seems to Idle a little higher at times.Like 1000 rpm`s.If I lightly hit the accelerator it usually drops back to about 600 rpm`s.I couldnt find a vacume leak so not sure whats up.THANK YOU.

Yeah I didnt think it was a coincidence. It is coolant for sure. When you say wicked,do you mean too much got in the core and is just comeing out?A few more drops have come out but all in all its been less than a1/4 cup I`d say.I`m just gonna keep my eye on it.What could be causing the throttle to stick.Since I dissconected the vapor canister I don`t notice a gas smell like I used to.It smeeled like my car was running rich but now the smell is gone.Could it be a vacume leak?Could this be causing a lean condition now.MY rpms are idling around 1200 rpm and it`ll get stuck at 2000 or 2500 while driving and I`ll have too goose the throttle to get it to come down.

The vacume controlled thing I removed had three hoses going to it and one vacume line.It looked kinda like a mushroom.Did that controll the heater or the egr.Passenger side of engine. The hoses ran from under the throttle body to the mushroom shaped thing to the firewall/heater core.Another ran from the firewall straight to the radiator with a T in it going up to the mushroom shaped vacume selonoid.

Well,It`s deffinatly the heater core.I bypassed it for now.Still wondering about this high idle/sticking throttle issue.
Got it.Put a little sqirt of wd 40 on the throttle shaft bearing and it cleared it right up.

I have [U]exactly[U] the same problems. I just replaced my heater core. Now I have gas smells and the same idle problems. Have you found the problems. We are tearing into ours this weekend.

Re: a couple of issues
I had the gas smell/rich problem before all this but I did figure out it was my cts(coolant temp sensor).Installed a new one and dissconnected the battery for about 30 minutes to reset the computer and it cleared up that problem. The high idle I believe it was a throttle shaft sticking problem.I had just used TB cleaner on my throttle body.I decided to spray just a touch of wd 40 on the throttle shaft in a couple of places and that cleared up.If you do that be careful not to spray the tps or iac.I hear it can damage one or both of them.
