first off I have to say thanks to all....
what my 92 rs 305 tbi is doing is it will run just fine up untill it gets around 220+ degrees then it runs ruff it spits pops chokes dies out and smels rich once it shot out a cloud of white smoke, when it cools down it runs good and the whole prosess starts right over, I have been told to replace the coolant temp control sensor? I called a few Muffler shops and they said that as long as there is flow coming from the tailpipe then the cat is ok,I'm in hard place and not sure what to do at this point. I also have a problem with the starter, I get a click click sometimes this will go on for 1 to 15 times when I try to start then the starter will kick in and start the car. Please help I would be thankfull..

1 a bad starter... 2 sounds like a head gasket leak 3 check the oil coolant in the oil = milkshake.. lots of work..
Thanks for your reply, I checked the oil,and the oil looks fine as does the coolant, I changed the coolant temp sensor and it seems to run better but it's still haveing the same problem but not as bad, I'm guessing that it was cold outside when I cheanged the sensor and maybe the car ran cooler for that reason, I will drive it in the daytime sun and see what happens,it maybe be that it needs to be driven more for the problem to fix it's self? I guess I will have to see, if anybody has anymore ideas I would gladley listen.

check the radiator with the cap off and see if their are bubbles in it.. sounds like over heating. could be a bad water pump.. or a stuck thermostat
